The Lavender is in full bloom...perfect day to pick lavender!

Folgate, is great for fresh or dried flowers.

Hidcote, is wonderful for culinary uses.  Just hang upside down in a dark, dry place (closet) and in two weeks you a sweet delight for any dessert, lemonade or herb de provence.

Royal Velvet, one of my favorites.  Fresh, dried or culinary it has a royal purple color.

Hi Karen,
Are these three varieties the only ones that are hardy in our zone? I am still looking to plant some here near Seneca Lake.
When is the best time to get started?
Hope to meet you at the Fest but am busy with guests. If not then, perhaps another time during a weekday.

A number of Angustifolia (common name, English) are hardy to our zone. Planting in the spring after frost is the best time.
