The magic of the holiday season shines in my hometown every year. For 17 years characters have dressed in period clothing from the classic tale, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. They wander the streets, acting out scenes from the book, conversing with folks and singing carols. There are many activities and treats like a horse drawn carriage rides, roasted chestnuts and hot cocoa.
The celebration begins the day after Thanksgiving and runs every Saturday and Sunday through December until Christmas from noon to 4 pm, and a limited show on Dec 24th noon to 3.
